Miss E and the green chair… | Lethbridge Baby Photographer

Yesterday I had the pleasure of ‘shooting’ Miss E. She was such a good little baby even though she has a nasty little cold…poor girl. I was also happy to get to use my new green chair. I think her little dress went perfect! We shot a few in her grandma and grandpa’s backyard before we headed out to some different locations. The location where we shot her in the chair is also the location where I was attacked by a HUGE spider! I can’t express to you enough how much I loath spiders…especially HUGE spiders…it gives me the creepy crawlies just thinking about it again!! So needless to say we didn’t stick around that location very much longer. So here are a few photos from the session:

My own family…

As photographers we are notorious for never having photos of ourselves. I’m guilty of this. I have thousands, literally thousands, of photos of my son, my husband, my husband and my son together; but I have very few of me or the three of us all together. I think we find it hard to give up that creative control but this year I decided this needed to change. So I asked a photographer friend of mine, Devon Durocher, if she would be so kind and do a session with me and my little family. We planned for months and waited for Spring to finally arrive.
It was so nice to have someone that I actually know to take our photos. I felt comfortable in front of the camera, which if you know me is an unfamiliar feeling for me when a camera is pointed my way. We started out with family photos of the three of us and then did a little session with just me and my husband, Brett. I really loved this because we haven’t had any photos taken of just the two of us since we got married.
Here is a little slideshow of the resulting photos.

I want to thank Devon again for taking these for us, we love them so much!

I also want to add that I think every couple, no matter how long you’ve been together, should have photos taken just because. So often we get stuck in the ‘norm’ of doing family photos and never think about taking photos of just the couple. The love between a couple should be captured and enjoyed at any stage of your relationship. I’m really interested in capturing couples together, whether you’ve been together 2 years, 10 years, 25 years, 40 years. Please, if you are interested, contact me and we’ll take some time to capture your love as it is today.
