MY BOY…

About a week ago my own family had our family photos done. We try to get new images every year. It’s important to me. Our son is growing up so fast and I want to have these memories when he’s 16, 20, 30, to look back on. At the end of our session I got my camera out and snapped a few of my guy just because he looked so handsome in the outfit I bought for him!

In case anyone is wondering about his adorable outfit…the red gingham dress shirt and the grey vest are both from Zara, the jeans are from The Children’s Place and his shoes are Airwalks from Payless:)

Every single day…

I’m trying really hard to make a real effort to photograph my own life more. I’ve gotten in to the habit of only bringing out my camera when I’m working, which used to be rare for me. I used to photograph my son constantly and he complained about it all the time! The busier I get the more I’m finding I don’t bring my camera out just to play around and to capture things around me. This year I’m trying hard to change that and to really stop and look around and document my own life, my own family, the things I love or interest me.

To photograph my own son is a challenge. I’m his mom, I’ve taken a million photos of him and he’s over it…lol! He makes funny faces, he squirms and complains…but I figure…that’s who he is, that’s what makes me laugh…that’s what makes him HIM. So here he is…I can’t get over how grown up he’s looking…it reminds me to make the effort, to really get my camera out and capture him every single day…

Happy 6th Birthday to my sweet boy!

I kinda blows my mind that my son is 6 years old. He’s such a joy in our lives. He’s funny, clever, imaginative, sweet, loving and has tons of energy! His favorite foods are pizza, hot dogs and hamburgers. His favorite toys are Lego, his Nintendo DS and his Lego heroes. He loves going to kindergarten. He’s also going to judo with his dad and is loving every minute of it!

I can’t believe how fast he is growing up!

All dressed up…

This is my little dude. He had his Christmas concert last week and I went a little overboard with his outfit. He rarely dresses up, he is more of a t-shirt and jeans/jogging pants kinda kid. So when his school said he had to dress in his “Sunday best” I really went all out. I had envisioned this outfit all pulled together in my head but wasn’t sure how it would actually come together in reality. It really did exceed my expectations if I do say so myself! I was SO happy with how it came together! The mix of patterns is perfection to me.
