This session is a personal one for me. I’ve known this family pretty much my entire life which I think is pretty crazy! One of the first memories I have of them is from when I was just a little kid I remember getting locked in their bathroom, it was a pretty traumatic experience! LOL! I was maybe 5 years old. They lived just a few houses over from my family but moved when I was still pretty young and we kind of lost touch for a few years other than our moms who were friends. Later on, in I think the 8th grade, I became good friends with Jay. I don’t even remember how that happened but he became a pretty important person in my life for quite a few years. From then on I spent quite a bit of time at their house and have a lot of great memories. Eventually we went our separate ways, I don’t really remember how that happened either I just remember being sad about it. But life goes on and we are all grown up now with our own families which also seems so bizarre to me…I definitely don’t feel we are old enough yet for all of this but yet here we are.
Earlier this year I ran a special for 2010 and Debbie & Geri both got in on it. I photographed Geri’s family back in February and now it was time for the whole family. I am notoriously nervous before sessions, it’s just something I can’t help no matter how many sessions I do, but when it’s someone I know and have known for a very long time it makes me even more nervous! But in a good way:) It turned out to be a great session and my husband Brett, who came along to help me out, commented on how much fun they are. I’m really pleased with the images so I hope you guys are too!

Thank you Debbie, Roger, Geri, Gary, Izak, Jay, Kim, Karli and Emma! It was so great to see you and to have the chance to photograph your family, it means a lot to me:)
